About this deal

It’s also cheaper than other Fujifilm cameras, such as the X-S10 or the X-T4, while sharing some of those cameras’ main specs. One of the disadvantages of a smaller than full-frame sensor is that low-light shooting can result in noisier images. When using the X-TX0 series of cameras, I often find myself missing a dedicated ISO dial, but over the last year I’ve started using the front command dial on select models such as my X100F to quickly change ISO when doing fast paced shooting.

We should see less noise at higher ISO since digital amplification of signal can be reduced, as well as a little bit of a dynamics increase. This new-generation, large-aperture prime lens delivers exceptional image sharpness, even when wide open at F1. We tested it on a particularly sunny day which made it very hard to see so we used the electronic viewfinder instead, we'd have liked the ability to fold it away to stop nose smudges, but not only for this, we'd like it for storage purposes too to avoid accidental scratches in transit. I’m not going to do any side-by-side comparisons, but simply state that I believe the X-T30 delivers fantastic JPEGs that go beyond anything from any other APS-C camera (except for the X-T3, which it is equal to since they share the same sensor and processor). The card and battery door lacks a spring catch, so you have to remember to lock the catch manually any time you want the door to stay closed. It's easier to use the X-T30's ISO button than it is to use the defective ISO dials on other Fujifilm cameras. Picture 4K that’s actually oversampled 6K, cinematic DCI format, colossal 240p high-speed recording, F-Log and much more! I’ve actually used it more than I thought I would, but it is definitely an every-once-in-a-while type thing.

Photographers and filmmakers can enjoy the creative freedom and unique look and feel of 18 different Film Simulations on X-T30 II. Based on FUJICHROME Velvia, an ultra vivid reversal film designed for professional use, this Film Simulation mode provides richer and more high-contrast colors than the PROVIA/STANDARD. From a mild texture to the gritty look of a traditional high-ISO film, with X-T30 II you can easily add natural-looking grain to your photos in camera, controlling its intensity and size for perfect results. Here’s where we see a little difference from the X-T30, as the Mark II version uses a newer algorithm which is designed to more accurately track subjects that are moving towards or away from the camera. The popular AUTO shooting mode has also been updated, making it even easier to obtain beautiful pictures without using detailed settings.Although the X-T30 II has some decent video specifications, it’s designed more for photographers who might shoot the occasional clip, rather than serious videographers. The new added speed functions makes it very easy to use this camera for tracking kids, pets, and even doing sports. Whether you’re photographing people on the move or using a shallow depth-of-field to give your portraits a three-dimensional look, you can be confident X-T30 II will keep your subject’s face or eyes in focus thanks to Face and Eye Detection AF.

Sony cameras have better color rendition for most subjects other than people when shot as JPG, but for people pictures Fujifilm cameras are unbeaten. In this case my X-T30 is smart enough to crank up its Auto ISO to capture the ambient light and balance the flash just enough to keep catchlights in their eyes. Another improvement is the focus point sensitivity, which now goes to an impressive -7EV, compared to the X-T30’s -3EV.This new X-Trans IV sensor, which is back-side illuminated, runs cooler, and that allows Fujifilm to crank up the speed of the camera. The overall speed of the X-T30 is also upgraded to match the X-T3 in every way, which means that the X-T30 now handles fps bursts of up to 30 fps in a new 1. X-Trans takes more processing power, and the big challenge that Fujifilm has faced is heat dispersion. How much you actually like to shoot in very low lighting is worth thinking about, but here we’re treated to pretty clean images up to around ISO 6400, with some noticeable (but not overly objectionable) noise starting to creep in thereafter. Fujifilm puts a seal on the bag inside the box, but it's easy to get the camera out, play with it, and then restick the sticker so no one knows it's a used camera.

This is very impressive, and we can't think of a time where you'd need more than this unless you're really bad at pre-empting when the action will enter your frame. Based on PRO160NS, a color negative film for professionals, this Film Simulation mode has a soft tonal gradation and excellent skin tone reproduction. She often partakes in unusual projects - including one intense year where she used a different camera every single day.

Every sample is different, but my sample lost 5 seconds per month (164ms/day) when new, and lost about 5 minutes in the year between April 2022 and April 2023. The specs of the video is actually the only thing functionality wise that has been crippled a little bit in comparison with the X-T3. The buffer in these modes will hold 36 shots of RAW+jpeg and between 80 and 145 shots in jpeg only mode.
