In this story, I sincerely loved all of the character equally and thought they all contributed to the story in a realistic way.

There is so much touched on in the book about his past, and already before this series has hit its stride id love to read a prequel about his life.

Unfortunately, I found it rather sluggish in parts, with it never really gripping my attention the same way as a historical novel by Bernard Cornwell or Simon Scarrow or Angus Donald does. A true gentleman, Two Hawks is especially committed to seeking God's will, honoring Anna's father, and seeing her relationship with Reginald healed. Those with six feathers have the ordinary feathers, like those with three or more, and between them and the horn nocking have three lower feathers, and their heads must be light. This book was a real disappointment and I struggled to get to the end, although it does improve considerably in the last section.This was the case in October 2015 when I read Lori Benton's The Wood's Edge, the prequel to this selection.
