About this deal

Allow the ganache to firm up a bit, then pipe the remainder of the frosting around the top edge of the cake (see my tips on making a chocolate drip cake) and add an Oreo between each swirl.

This chocolate layer cake is magnificent on its own but that doesn’t mean you can’t doll it up with a topping or two or wash it down with a delicious beverage. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product.

This frosting is not too sweet (unlike the American buttercream) and is super silky, making it so easy to work with.

and I have heard when putting tall cakes together its better for the sponges to be frozen, is it best to say freeze the sponges today and put it together tomorrow or do you have to wait once they are out of the freezer. The only other difference was that I used the ganache later the same day instead of leaving it overnight and nuking it a bit in the morning to thin it out. Hi I am so excited to try this bake but I too was going to do a Vanilla sponge instead of chocolate.

I use a fair amount based on my method of how to decorate a smooth cake (linked in the recipe instructions above). I’m currently making a kinder drip cake using your recipe and must say that buttercream is the best ever! Add chopped chocolate and microwave in 10second intervals, stirring in between, until completely smooth and shiny. It’s not recommended to replace all of the cocoa in a recipe with black cocoa powder, due to it’s very low fat content — it can make baked goods dry.
