About this deal

Installing the system is as easy as downloading the app, selecting what unit you’re setting up, and following the instructions. Manage your Wi-Fi at home or away on the Deco app, including seeing all connected devices, prioritizing your own, setting up a guest network, and more.

Each module also has two auto-sensing WAN/LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports that can connect to modems and wired devices such as computers, video game consoles, and smart TVs. I use NextDNS to monitor internet traffic on my home network, which shows the Deco X68 is sending network requests to domains owned by Avira almost every minute — NextDNS recorded over 42,000 queries in just 24 hours.

Easy Setup and Management - The Deco app helps you set up your network in minutes with clear visual guidance and keeps you in control even when you are not home. This setup will be used for streaming in 4k (sometimes two different devices doing so), some gaming, plenty of working from home including lots of WebEx/Zoom etc, telehealth, streaming lossless audio for my Sonos system etc. TP-Link reckons a set of two nodes will cover up to 5,500 square feet, which is plenty for most houses. Update: TP-Link says the network activity is due to "the Avira cloud data base [distinguishing] whether [the network request is] secure data or malware.

While they may sound difficult to understand and install, TP-Link makes it pretty easy with its Deco line of mesh systems. It has enough performance for gigabit connections, whether you're connected to the main router or a remote mesh node. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page. Empowered by WiFi 6, Deco X68 builds a more efficient network with four times the bandwidth on connected devices in dense environments. The Deco X68 provides corner to corner coverage and an extra 5Ghz band for a more reliable and stronger connection between Deco units. It's one of the cheapest tri-band mesh network systems currently available, and it has a few features not common in some competing devices, like the (limited) web panel and two Ethernet ports on each node.
