About this deal

Kensington Expert Trackball Mouse offers better ergonomics with less wrist and hand movement than with standard mice, ensuring greater comfort for your hand and wrist. February 10, 2016 | ambidextrous trackball | batteries | best trackball mouse | bluetooth mouse | bluetooth trackball mouse | bluetooth wireless | detachable wrist rest | Editor's Choice | ergonomic trackball mouse | finger mouse | finger-operated trackball | kensington trackball | kensington trackball mouse | large ball | scrollring | scrollwheel | trackball mouse | USB 2. The chances are you are spending a vast amount of time at work and at home using a computer for tasking and recreation. The four large buttons can be programmed to do exactly you want, all making for a simple and effective workflow with minimal movement from your hand and arm. Until I publish the review, take a look at the features of the Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball below, or read the review of the Wired Expert model.

Though Kensington's software toolkit is less flashy than Logitech Options, the program that accompanies the finest Logitech productivity gear, KensingtonWorks adds a ton of functionality that allows you to personalize your trackball and reach the level of comfort you should expect from any kind of ergonomic device. The ambidextrous design is exactly symmetrical so the Expert can be used by right-handed and left-handed people. The large trackball of the Expert might feel very heavy at first, but once you get used to it, you will love how accurate and solid it is compared to smaller trackballs. These products are separated into the correct waste flow at our local depots and send directly to government approved WEEE recycling plants.

Every now and then you need to take the ball out and clean the surface below to keep the rotation smooth. The panels are loud and frankly a bit springier than what you find in most mice; it's mostly a non-issue, but can occasionally become a distraction. SUMMARY: The Kensington Expert Mouse, one of my favorite trackballs, is now available as a wireless model, aptly named the Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball. The trackball mouse comes with TrackballWorks ™ software which allows you to customise the mouse to meet your needs. The symmetrical design of the Expert trackball works equally well for both right-handed and left-handed users. However, once I received it and set it up, I noticed that the scroll wheel was incredibly loud and rough. I did have trouble when one of the buttons got a little shaving of plastic caught under it, and in trying to extract it without disassembling it (four Philips screws in the base) so I didn’t void the warranty, I accidentally twisted the button.

These kinds of features are common among gaming peripherals, but they show up only in the very best office-grade gear. Designed for PCs and Macs, the Expert Optical Trackball employs Kensington's DiamondEye optical technology for smooth, precise cursor movement. They are worth considering, however, and I'm still holding out hope for a design tweak or new functionality that bridges the gap. It's easy to roll the trackball accurately over short distances and to make fine adjustments, but long rolls—like what you'd use to travel across a dual-monitor setup, for example—are generally imprecise and require corrective motions that require more deliberate thought than a standard mouse.Kensington Expert Trackball Mouse is an ergonomic mouse designed to minimise wrist and hand movement while enhancing productivity and capability.

At the centre of the mouse is the scroll ring and trackball that provide tracking and movement functionality. Compatible with Windows 7 "Compatible with Windows 7" software and devices carry Microsoft’s assurance that these products have passed tests for compatibility and reliability with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The top buttons can be set to for example back / forward, media player functions, launching applications or documents etcetera. I’d prefer a red ball, the grey one makes the whole thing look a bit industrial and unfriendly, but then I like red balls too.
