About this deal

Janine: As you mentioned above, there was a LOT of Hawke and Sienna in this book—I haven’t done a page comparison but I felt like I was reading almost as much about the two of them as about Riaz and Adria. Again, this is a problem with the changelings – it’s been so long since I’ve read a non-changeling hero that I’m not sure if it’s as much of an issue with them.

Since childhood, Emerald Buensuceso developed strong feeling with Vincent Zobel de Ayala, Both were came from wealthy and well known family in Quezon province, she thought it was just an infatuation during her childhood. I mean, I’ll probably be rereading the sections pertaining to the Ghost and Judd, but I don’t know about the rest. At one point, Riaz thinks to himself So the premise is all about the MC reducing the rates in which the heroines succumb to inner devil corruption.

The story is very fast paced, but it gives you moments of relief so it doesn't become too difficult to follow. Yet, he does lackluster approaches to maintain his relationships properly- which leads to various leads to hop in and out of devil states frequently.

While he has his moments where he does something intentionally or unintentionally that makes you go why did you do that but author does a wonderful job in turning each of his decisions meaningful and chaotic for the better. If Hawke actually ripped Kit’s arms off I would hate his guts, but the fact that part of him wants to and he has to try to rein that part of himself in actually makes him interesting to me, albeit in a non-PC way. The base concept is a guy in a game using exploits and what not to progress the story while balancing the relationship he has with the main villain and protagonist. This story gets near incoherent, and it feels like despite every new character introduced being the most powerful being ever, they are irrelevant, because the MC is a god.

Janine: This was a pretty epic problem and although I was annoyed with Riaz’s treatment of Adria early on, I could feel for him because his physical response to Adria was a betrayal of the mate his wolf had chosen. Majority of the novel is: MC combines this skill with that rare item under the full moon, so he can become the most powerful at the given situation despite his very weak stats. So let's say if a dragon is trying to kill him, he'll get boosted to EX rank, while if a second-rate villain tries to kill him, he'll only boost to like D rank. My only (very small) gripe is that I hope she doesn’t make any more of her heroines red-haired because she has at least three of them now. With the fate of the world and his own survival on the line, it's nice to see a MC actively trying his best to prevent a bad ending. Then he goes to the train to get to the academy, but he finds the seitokaichou who's the villain that'll destroy the world. Sophie Nelson signed a contract with the most honorable man in Eastern Mainland to trade for freedom, but she ran away at the last second before deal’s done. There is enough defiance in the heroines that I get some kind of sexual kick from the whole he’s big and strong and bossy thing. Janine: My problem sticking with series mostly applies to series that follow the same main characters. Strong prose and characterization go a long way with her, though if they are combined with an unusual plot or setting, all the better.
