So the “back” of the book is actually the “front,” and you read the panels starting in the upper right corner and moving to the left and down. I actually picked up the entire series while I was in Japan (there are 5 books in all, covering a lot from Genesis through Revalations). Let's be honest, Jesus's words were really way too deep and I found myself often stopping just to reflect and analyze it. If you’ve never read the book of Matthew before, or maybe your bible has some dust on it, you need to pick this one up.

Christ is laying on the wooden cross, looking up to Heaven, screaming to God because He abandoned Him. bought this cause it would be like my old copy but in my old copy, anything Jesus said will be in red writing which is different from the rest, but this copy it doesn't. This is a great book for the older kids that are in the 'in between' stages of finding the Usborne children's bible babyish and the King James Bible boring.

In all honesty, this is one of the best rendition Graphic-Manga-Novel series that depicts the life of Jesus apart from "The Picture Bible" that I once grew up with. I would recommend this to not just hardcore Christians but also people who want to know more about Christ and his story without sitting through a church service or tackling the bible and getting lost in complicated wording! The cutting-edge art style is combined with fast-paced storytelling to deliver solid biblical truths, making it a great way to introduce anyone to the Bible. On the down side, I found some parts to have fast phasing, especially the Passion and Persecution part--which I believed the most important part. Though, it is still about Jesus Christ's life, so we should consider this book really sacred and something to care about.was just an exaggeration for me, but just reading the first chapters of the manga made me think that I was wrong.
