About this deal

The Orangey Yellow (henceforth just yellow) worked pretty well on the banner too after a drybrush of VGC Scrufulus Brown to tidy up the streaks of Fuegan orange. If it worked well on a larger area I wondered if it would work as the main colour but I didn’t want to change the colour scheme of the Gors so I decided to look for another Chaos model that had horns and lots of fabric. Introducing the “Herdspeaker”, or Shard Speaker as GW calls them: The net effect is that the Hedonites battletome feels like it’s “copying the first book’s homework, but make it look like you didn’t.” with a minimal amount of effort to feel like something new. This doesn’t have to be a bad thing – both Daughters of Khaine and Disciples of Tzeentch are flavorfully similar to their previous iterations but include adequate updates for the environment they’re being put into. Meanwhile the Hedonites book went through several adjustments and got whole new units and should have felt much more well, new. Instead it feels like we have something dangerously close to being “Sylvaneth 2.0.” These inadequacies are even more stark when you put the book next to Daughters of Khaine. Let’s compare the two, shall we? A Dark Reveller warband can count on nicely priced tank like the Myrmidesh, offensive units like the Symbaresh and utility pieces like the archers or the cavalry. As previously mentioned, the new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar is set to shake up a fair few rules and create some interesting opportunities for your Hedonite armies. To find out just how they’ll be adapting to these changes, we asked our playtester and tournament-winning master of all things Slaanesh Mike Willson to give us his thoughts and advice.

The model on the right? They’re one of the Blissbarb Archers from the Hedonites of Slaanesh faction and I painted those up too: Compared to their demonic counterpart, they have more arrows in their quivers: literally considering demons don’t have archer units. The Myrmidesh are your perfect defensive piece, with one of the highest Toughness available in game together with a decent melee profile. The Excruciator Lash instead increases the range to 3″, loses a bit of Strength (3) but he is also the cheapest option and the 3″ range allows him to benefit for all melee buffs while keeping a safe distance from enemies or just to hide behind a Myrmidesh. points for 11 models. One of them doesn’t have a bow, and only a sword and the item that makes their shooting 4+ to wound into a 3+. I wouldn’t say it’s a good box but that has more to do with the army itself being so dire. If you’re dedicated to starting the army go for it. Grab Sigvald and a Lord of Pain, and pad out your roster with more units and this is a good start. If not, skip it. Final Verdict: Good Value/Skip Target practice: Blissbarb Seeker High-Tempter, Shardspeaker, 2 Blissbarb Seekers, 3 Blissbarb Archers, 1 Blissbrew Homonculus. How to buy a Slaanesh Sybarites Warband Those Seeker warriors acquiring an Exalted Steed of Slaanesh can cross the battlefield at incredible speed.

The Hellscourge does not have access to this ability, but the 3″ range can be useful to outsmart those fighters with 2″ range, meaning he can be even further protected from retaliation. We are a small team of Warhammer Enthusiasts and miniature collectors, hoping to support and further promote the hobby. But where did the whip come from? Oh yeah, I bought the Start Collecting: Daemons of Slaanesh and Painbringers kits too, so I could add more bits to the mix. Using these kits, my next task was to find out how to introduce the Daemons into the mix without blowing the colour palette up even more. I started out with the Seekers and painted them in the Beasts of Chaos colours: The Slaanesh Sybarites are the newest Age of Sigmar expansion to the Hedonites of Slaanesh army. As such the models are all, except one, brand-new and there are no discounted box available yet.
