Grogu loved imagining the first time the Mandalorian hopped up on a blurrg and tried to ride it. He was sure it had gone smoothly. His dad was so good with critters, what could have gone wrong? Nothing, right? The only problem would be the helmet. He didn’t want one. He knew it would offer important protection. He knew that if he was going to follow in his father’s footsteps and swear to the Creed the way Din Djarin had, he’d need to wear a helmet. But… he didn’t like the idea of his dad not seeing his face. In part he had liked that because the best he could offer those people was a thank you and a smile. Depending on circumstances, he might heal them if they needed healing. He never asked for anything for doing that, but he always appreciated it when people gave him something to eat or helped him stay warm. At least for a little while. Grogu didn’t really like to think of the process of killing a critter. He knew it happened. He knew that eventually even the frogs he ate a live were no longer alive after a time in his stomach. He was pretty sure the same could be said for the Tusken the critter had grabbed. On the other hand he always told his dad ‘thank you’ and said ‘please’ and ‘good job’ and ‘you’re the best’. He didn’t know if the Mandalorian really understood his words but he was pretty sure that he could feel them. He knew that Din Djarin had very deep feelings. He didn’t often show them, but when he did they were sincere and reflected who he truly was under the armor and the training and adherence to dogma.

What were the odds that when Grogu sat on that stone on Tython that he’d be able to get a message to the one and only Jedi who had last studied with Master Yoda? Master Yoda who was a member of Grogu’s species, but no one knew where either one of them came from or how many of their people existed?Or was is like the Armorer said, that Mandalorians were both the hunter and the prey… did that mean that Mandalorian bounty hunters were hunted while they hunted? Or was that the case for all bounty hunters? They were hunted by each other? They were certainly affected by each other. After all the Mandalorian had to end the original IG-11 because the droid was going to end Grogu. Did that happen a lot between bounty hunters? Some days were just better than others. Grogu was surprised by that at times. He’d notice something off in the distance and realize that it was really a very nice day and everything was pretty and he was actually happy right then and there. Now that he was a Mandalorian foundling, would he need to become a member of a religion that included weapons? He didn’t really know. He was much smaller than humans and he hadn’t met any Mandalorians who weren’t also human. At least he thought that they were human. It was hard to tell with the helmets and armor. Din was right. Grogu had seen worse. He’d also felt it. What it was like when everyone you knew died at almost the same time. Horrifying barely covered it. That said, to the same extent, it didn’t mean that Grogu was going to volunteer to see more or feel more of that kind of stuff. He wasn’t. There they were, just ambling through Beggar’s Canyon, trying to find something to eat. Maybe just having some fun. Perhaps with their families or other friends. All critters have friends. And then suddenly, something starts happening all around you and you discover that you are the target. The thing wants to end you. How is that fair? But then the Krayt dragon showed up and they all had a problem. Marshal Vanth, the Tuskens, the town folk, even the Mandalorian. A problem they needed to solve by helping each other. It was a good thing Cobb Vanth wasn’t tied to some creed that would have told him not to help people who had once been enemies. Or one that told you to hang onto a thing because it was more important than the people around you (looking at you Mandalorians).
