About this deal

I did however notice that the S9 Pro is a bit louder and feels somewhat faster when shaving (the motor is still a 10000 oscillations per minute unit though). While you may still be able to find some on various online stores in the USA and Europe, the original Series 9 shavers have been discontinued. Instead of the cleaning center, can I use Norelco or Remington shaver spray? The alternative seems to be some machine oil, and I can’t believe that would be like the 3 in 1 machine oil you use on hinges and things. Important: the differences between the models in a generation, be it the 90xx, 92xx, 93xx, 94xx (PRO) and 95xx (PRO+) come down mainly to color and included accessories; the shaving performance throughout a generation is identical.

As an import, I have no warranty. Even with/without a warranty, I’d still have to send it to Sydney and wait however many weeks for repair. As shown in the table above, only the 9365cc, 9370cc, 9376cc, and 9310cc come with the non-Pro station, while the rest of the 93xx versions have the Pro version (3 modes). Perhaps No body fill this problem because nobody compare his shaver with new one, but I think because of very high vibration 40.000 ( 4*10.000) it damage the shaver too…By the way, I lubricate my shaver 2-3 times per month by oil too. A good pre-shave definitely helps in this situation and you may even see an improvement in the closeness of the shave. The Series 9 and Braun’s other middle to high-end shavers are fortunately very gentle and really enjoyable to use, even if you suffer from the aforementioned issues. The use of a pre-shave powder that contains talc and a few other chemicals can be problematic in the context of using an automatic cleaning station, particularly a Braun station that uses an alcohol solution and it’s more susceptible to clogging. It’s unlikely for anything serious to happen, but I personally wouldn’t use a talc powder and then clean my razor in the cleaning station. So in this case a manual cleaning should probably be performed just to be on the safe side. I know this is inconvenient, so the Lectric Shave is the way to go in this case. Just make sure to wait for 20 to 30 seconds after applying the splash to your face to make sure it has evaporated completely. Again, I haven’t personally tested any of these methods, so I cannot guarantee for their safety and efficiency.

As for the elusive 93xx update, it seems more like a mid-life facelift of the Series 9 that doesn’t bring any significant improvements over the existing 92xx shavers (except for the larger battery), but it will likely boost the sales. I personally prefer to use shaving cream with my wet/dry electric shavers and I haven’t noticed a significant difference in the lifespan of the shaving heads compared to my dry only shavers. But I do take the time to proper care for them. Problem is, when I put the new shaver into the old cleaning station, it beeps constantly once the battery is fully charged – Every 0.5-2 seconds, the battery display (showing all bars) will blink and the unit will beep. I’ve tried every combination of power cables, outlets, etc, between the old and new devices – always the same issue with new shaver in old cleaning station, no issues with any other combination of parts. If you’re on a tighter budget, shave daily/every other day and you have a light to medium beard, the Arc 3 should be good enough. Just make sure to get one of the models fitted with a 13 000 CPM (cycles per minute) motor like the ES8103S or ES-LT6N/ES-LT3N and so on. For slightly more money you can also get the Arc 4 ES-LA63-S or ES8243AA if you live in the USA. Those come with 4 blades and should handle a coarse beard without any issues. Finally, there’s the range-topping Arc 5 (with models like the ES-LV65-S or ES-LV67) with 5 blades and excellent performance (closeness and comfort). Those are also more expensive. Right after the launch of the original Series 9, there was a shortage of replacement shaving heads (90s and 90b cassettes).

Thank you for your comment. The Lectric Shave is alcohol based and will evaporate within 20 seconds after applying it to your face. I use it every time I shave dry and haven’t had any issues with gunk buildups. In this case a manual clean is not necessary, you can simply toss your razor into the cleaning base once you’ve finished shaving. The Braun Series 9 9385cc, as well as the other new models like the 9390cc, 9340s and so on use the same shaving heads as the older Series 9. Due to its versatility, durability and affordability stainless steel production continues to increase around the world year after year. Series 9 leather vs hard textile travel case. Both offer adequate protection, but the leather one looks and feels more premium. The 92S (left) and 92M (right) cassettes are identical except for the glossy and matte treatments respectively.

It will even work great for shaving the head, so you may want to consider it if that’s something you do on a regular basis. And this is a bit of a bummer since it takes away some of that hassle-free maintenance promised by the station. Does the CC automatically charge the shaver? I like to go until the battery is low before charging it.I think users who shave once or twice a week or have really coarse hair could see an improvement, but other than that, things will be pretty much the same. The new Series 9 93xx shavers also come in two flavors (just like their predecessors): solo (models ending in s like 9340s) and Clean & Charge models (the ones ending in cc like the 9385cc, 9390cc, 9395cc, etc.). Im also wondering if holding a hot wet towel over my face pre shave , and using the wet shave option will improve my shave quality and or shave experience ? It really helps with manual blades (a hot shower while shaving also helps immensely with a manual blade , will it also help alot with this braun?)

Precisely, every model in the original Series 9 family starts with 90: 9090cc, 9095cc, 9093s, and so on. You can try a pre-shave lotion as well, most of the time it helps with getting a better dry shave. For wet shaving, I am not a fan of using just pre-shave oils with electric shavers, they tend to clog them and just cause a lot of mess. If you want to use a pre-shave oil in addition to shaving cream, you can definitel The dry-only variations from the original Series 9 lineup like the 9090cc or 9040s can be operated while charging, but those are getting really difficult to find. This same fluid lasts for 3 weeks if shaved daily & a month if shaved alternate, I was wondering how is the fluid clean if dry shaved & put the shaver in the station? While the least common of the four major stainless steel families, martensitic and precipitation hardening steels are popular in applications requiring a precise, hardened edge.Regarding which generation Series 9 should you buy, it’s really up to you and there’s no right or wrong approach to this. The Series 9 Pro shaver seems a bit more powerful and you can’t get that just by using the 94M cassette. And the Series 9 is already an excellent performer out of the box, so adding a shaving cream won’t make that much of a difference here. 4. Corded and cordless use
