About this deal

The best idea is to take a look at your current data usage. This can give you an indication if you're in need of an unlimited data plan. Usually, it is those having to tether lots of devices on the go, mobile gamers or fans of HD streaming that will most benefit. If you have multiple lines on your EE account, you can share up to 120GB of data with them every month. You’ll get a 100GB shareable data allowance on most EE unlimited data plans, or a 120GB shareable data allowance if you buy a 5G phone on an EE Smart plan. You’ll also get a 10% discount on additional lines that you add to your EE account. As the name suggests, Unlimited data SIMs give you unlimited access to the internet on your mobile device. That means you’ll never run out of data to surf the web, browse social media and stream content. Unlimited data also means you’ll never have to deal with surprise charges in your bills.

Virgin mobile– exclusive to existing customers only, Virgin mobile offers 12-month unlimited data plans. Most networks do have a fair usage policy, but they are typically only in place to identify commercialor illegal usage. Therefore, those using the plans for personal usage don't need to worry about them.

With this corking SIM-only deal, from EE, you can snag unlimited data for just £15/mth for the first six months

Virgin Mobile, which uses O2’s network, also offers unlimited data, and while this used to only be available to customers of other Virgin products, it’s now available to everyone at the time of writing. Beyond durations, there are a number of other variations in EE’s unlimited data SIM Only plans. The most basic and affordable are dubbed ‘No Frills Unlimited plans’. These limit you to 25Mbps speeds, which means you can’t really take advantage of 5G speeds here, as those are the sorts of speeds you’d typically get with 4G. Vodafone now also has an unlimited Pay As You Go plan. It’s a 5G plan that comes with roaming in 51 European countries (with a 25GB monthly roaming limit), and you will also get VeryMe Rewards on all plans – which include things like free movie rentals and tasty treats. There’s also a general fair usage policy saying you should limit your use to under 650GB per month.

No Digital Home Phone calls service included. You will have no dial tone and will not be able to make or receive calls, including calls to emergency services. Typically, these plans will also come with an allowance of minutes and texts (often also unlimited), unless it’s a plan for a mobile broadband device, in which case the SIM card might just come with data.EE also offers impressive speeds and coverage with both 4G and 5G, so you’ll be able to make the most of all that data, and with data gifting on most plans you can share your hefty allowance with other devices and family members. Is EE unlimited data really unlimited? From January 2024 if you have a 3G plan or a 3G device, you’ll no longer be able to access our 3G network, so you won’t be able to access the Internet, use social media or messaging apps, such as WhatsApp, or make or receive video calls with family and friends. You will still be able to make and receive calls and texts on our 2G network. All Rounder SIM: Includes uncapped speeds, 1 Inclusive Extra, Data Gifting, Stay Connected Data, and upgrade anytime. Specifically, if you’re on an Unlimited Lite plan on Vodafone you’ll be limited to 2Mbps speeds, while standard Unlimited plans on the network top out at 10Mbps. So for unrestricted speeds you need an Unlimited Max plan. Tethering or personal hotspot refers to the process of sharing your smartphone’s internet connection with another device (e.g. with your laptop or tablet).

If you’re watching on average more than around an hour of streamed video content from Netflix or elsewhere in the maximum available quality each day using mobile data, then you should get an unlimited data plan.Roaming abroad in 50 mostly European destinations is included and you can also tether as much data as you like. When roaming there’s a fair usage policywhich states that if you spend more time abroad in a 4-month period than in the UK you may be asked to prove you have strong ties to the UK. Apple Music: Data used will be deducted from your plan allowance. Apple Music is for your personal, non-commercial use only. Requires a handset using either the latest iOS version or Android 5 or later. Apple ID required. You must not attempt to share, edit or adapt the content made available to you. Content is variable and may be withdrawn at any time. UK use only. Apple Music terms apply. For more details go to ee.co.uk/apple-music. EE’s unlimited data plans are subject to a fair usage policy which states that you should use under 600GB per month. You also shouldn’t regularly tether 12 or more devices simultaneously, and there’s a 50GB monthly limit when roaming.

Finally, there are ‘Full Works’ plans, which are EE’s ultimate unlimited data plans. These include everything from All-Rounder plans, except you get three Inclusive Extras rather than just one. It’s also possible to get unlimited data on a range of Pay Monthly phones including those from Apple and Samsung. The other factor to consider is if you would simply like the safety that unlimited data offers. Not having to keep an eye on your data cap is a nice benefit of these tariffs. How long will my contract be?

Currently, Smarty only offers SIM only plans, so no unlimited Pay Monthly phones or Mobile Broadband plans are available. Unlimited Plans are for personal, non-commercial use only. We will consider usage above 1000GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan. For years now, the Three network has fought off competition to offer the best value limitless SIM, but the margins are always shrinking with other networks closing the gap.
