About this deal

This book is in my top five books that I have read this year. It has everything, love, loss, friendship and enemies. You can’t help but love Nell and want her to have her happy ever after.

the friendships that Nell has in her life, they flounder and flourish, and reminds me that friendship needs to worked at to keep alive In this hilarious, un-put-downable follow-up to the bestselling Confessions of a Forty-Something F ## k Up , now the basis for the major TV series, Not Dead Yet , there are laugh-out-loud lessons to be learned, truths to be told, adventures to go on and joys to discover.

This was billed as humorous and it was in parts but I expected more. What I hadn't expected was some of the sensitive topics that were covered. I did feel they were dealt with very well. It's feeling happy and content, because life is a success and all sorted out and you’re exactly where you

I won’t lie; there were moments I thought, ‘Is this story ever going to end?’ But those short, snappy chapters? They were like little pit stops in a marathon, ensuring I was well-fed with light humor and hope as I journeyed through. not a big deal and I don’t say, ‘it’s just a question of perspective, just be positive!’ Because it’s not helpful. A novel for any woman who wonders how the hell she got here, and why life isn't quite how she imagined it was going to be. And who is desperately trying to figure it all out when everyone around them is making gluten-free brownies. Hilarious, poignant, and utterly relatable, Confessions of a Forty-Something is a must-read for anyone whose life isn't working out quite how they'd planned. This is a new favourite and one I could definitely listen to again as it made me smile so much. Alexandra Potter has created a wonderful character in Nell Stevens someone women of any age can identify with.

Nell is our forty-something protagonist, she represents so many women, in our different ways. She is intimidated by the yummy mummy brigade, she isn’t proficient at yoga, hates air-kissing and high heels. These character traits tell me she is definitely one of my tribe. Confessions of a Forty-Something by Alexandra Potter will make you laugh, and it might even make you cry. Above all, it will remind you that you're not on your own – we're all in this together. I liked the format of the book especially Nell's Things I Am Grateful For at the end of each chapter.

A funny, feisty tale about the highs and the oh-so-lows of having to start over in your forties with a smart, sassy character at its heart who you'll be cheering on from start to finish. * Mike Gayle *Single - nearly 29 and single, and I'm still being asked "when are you going to find a man and settle down? I had not heard of this author, and it was a 'stumble across' as I browsed an interstate catalogue (the perks of working in a library, and knowing where to look for the location of a book, Australia wide). BorrowBox is great! The book features an array of wonderful friendships. From cross generational, to long distance, to the support you find when someone has seen you at your best, and your lowest, over many years.

Potter’s message is that ‘it’s never too late to start over, to keep growing and learning, discovering unexpected joys, having fun, falling in love and going on adventures.’”— Daily Mail A funny, feisty tale about the highs and the oh-so-lows of having to start over in your forties with a smart, sassy character at its heart who you'll be cheering on from start to finish. Brilliantly written, extremely relatable, honest, full of humour and totally uplifting, Everyone needs to read this (you don’t have to be forty-something) and realise it’s never too late to change what you don’t like in your life and their are tons of women dealing with the same thoughts and feelings. Lucy Dillon I loved this book so much. It’s very funny and painfully true. Confessions of a Forty-Something is perfect comfort reading for anyone who thinks life isn’t working out as they want it to, whether they’re forty, fourteen or eighty-four.

I find Nell just such a relatable character. She has faults, but she is loveable, and is just a great side character (still want her to have her own spin off) Că cel mai important lucru este sănătatea și viața și că nu-ți dai seama de asta până nu ești pe punctul de a le pierde.
