It’s also way faster than the previous generations of the Legion 7, both Intel and AMD. In fact, even the mainstream i7-12700H Legions are now way faster in multi-treading performance than the previous-gen Legion 7s. There are, however, some key differences in the IO, but unless you need Thunderbolt 4, they’re minor. The USB-Cs on the rear and left of this laptop don’t support Thunderbolt like the ones on the Intel version do. They do support data, charging and DisplayPort 1.4, so you should still be able to connect displays if that’s your need. This is an above-average rating. Nevertheless, it should not be forgotten that about one fifth of all tested models receive a better rating.

In short, I don’t think you could go wrong with either. But if it were me, I’d lean towards the AMD model, based solely on the battery testing results. However, the Intel model also has a couple of advantages that should be carefully considered before choosing between the two, which might matter especially if you don’t plan to use the laptop unplugged that often. This beats out the Alienware x17 and the Razer Blade 15 ’s 77 and 80 fps . However, the MSI GE76 Raider outperformed the Legion 7 at 106 fps. At its native 2560 x 1600, the Legion benchmarked at 71 fps, more than Razer Blade 15’s 54 fps at 1440p.

I almost went with the 7, because I like the design much more. But I can't justify the MAJOR price difference, for the small performance gain. Maybe if it had 32 GB RAM and 5900HX for the same price. Balance with Legion Ai allows the GPU to run at up to 175Wjust like on Performance mode, but with the same kind of noise levels. Regular Balance without Legion Ai mode runs at lower power settings, but also quieter fans.W (~6-7 h of use) – 60Hz, 4K Netflix with Dolby Vision, fullscreen in Edge, Quiet Mode, screen at 60%, Wi-Fi ON; Outside of the usual preinstalled apps like TikTok and Spotify, the handiest app is Lenovo Vantage Vantage has multiple settings to customize the laptop, including different performance modes depending on if you want silence or full-blown power. With Hybrid mode enabled, the laptop uses regular Optimus, which supports FreeSync. But in this mode the graphics are passed through the iGPU on their way to the laptop’s main display, so your performance will be slightly lower in some loads and games. Hardware and performance
