About this deal

TV’s favourite Time Lord takes on the Lonely Assassins in this new game from Gale Force Nine, and Don’t Blink makes some bold choices from the outset. The fact that the only way to really make it through an encounter with them was to keep your eyes open made them honestly one of the scarier monster concepts ever. The game includes a Tardis Electronic International Model that requires three AAA batteries, not supplied.

Doctor Who: Don’t Blink Review | Board Game Quest Doctor Who: Don’t Blink Review | Board Game Quest

Travelling through the Time Vortex, the TARDIS is hit by a Time Spiral, outlawed technology which has been reactivated by the Daleks. Take the role of one of the Doctors to retrieve the key components whilst battling deadly foes and race back to the TARDIS to complete the repairs and be declared the winner! The game is also a great way to spend time with friends and family, and it can provide hours of entertainment. That is Time of the Daleks in a nutshell, as you can tell it is relatively straightforward, quick to set-up and when you get going it boils down to: roll dice, play cards, Dalek impression, repeat. If you succeed you can usually move your Tardis forward, the Dalek ship back or gain tokens or timey-wimey cards, which give you bonuses or equipment.

Doctor Who Race to the Tardis Board Game

Inside, you get a 16-page rulebook, nine double-sided floor tiles making up the spaceship, a Tardis tile, four repair part tokens, four action tokens, eight Weeping Angel standees, and four Tardis crew standees. I haven’t quite figured out how to prevent this odd pace but it seems common in your first few plays. Each round has five phases: Choose Angels Phase, Hero Move Phase, Hero Card Phase, Angel Phase, and Clean Up Phase. The Doctor Who Game is perfect for a night of fun with friends and family, or as a gift for a Doctor Who enthusiast. As a board-gamer, you can understand my excitement when I learnt that Gale Force 9 were going to make a game based on the TV show. With a playing time of 5 to 30 minutes, it's a quick and easy game to enjoy with family and friends. This semi-cooperative game lets you play as your favourite Doctor, pulled from different timelines to stop the Daleks. They debuted 44 years after the Daleks and are arguably even less mobile than their famously stair-averse counterparts. You can always grab Time of the Daleks and the right Friends Expansion for Tardis crew miniatures, but there are good reasons not to.
