My name is Joanne McGowan and I provide creative and active themed parties for all ages from 2 to 11 years as well as craft parties from age 5 upwards in Surrey and also areas of Hampshire & Berkshire. All parties are run by me and I am a qualified dance, drama and fitness teacher with over 14 years experience entertaining children. I am also a Mum and understand exactly how special birthday parties should be. I am fully CRB checked and insured. My sense of fun combined with my experience means that all Act One Parties are both energetic and imaginative, but most of all great fun! I love creating fantastic shared birthday memories for the birthday child and their friends.
Detailed on my website are some of the most popular parties I have on offer. However party themes are only limited by imagination so if you have a theme in mind that is not listed here Act One Parties would be delighted to create this for you. It is also possible to combine most themes to create a party most suitable for boys and girls or to make the party truly unique. Popular theme combinations include Princess and Pirates, Princess and Knights, Princess and Superheroes, Fairies and Pirates, Mermaids and Pirates but in the past we have combined High School Musical and Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo and Narnia, Princess and Firefighters & Princess and Dinosaurs – so almost anything is possible.

What happens at an Act One Party?
From the moment you book an Act One Party you can be assured of a professional and reliable service. I confirm all bookings by email (or post if preferred) and a week before your party you will receive a personalised plan detailing all the activities I will be providing on the day and confirming all arrangements.
On the day I arrive approximately 30 minutes before the party start time to unload and set up. I then greet the children as they arrive and have an arrival activity for them to do. When the majority of guests have arrived the fun really begins. For an Adventure Party the children will be lead through a story tailored to their interests while playing lots of fun games and activities. For a Performance Party the children will learn some fun dance routines and/or a short drama ready to show to parents at the end. For both types of parties a wide selection of games are on offer which depending on the theme and age range of the children can include:-

At most parties there will be a break for food midway through and then the children continue the fun afterwards with some celebratory games and dancing at an adventure party and a show at the end for parents at a performance party. Joanne co-ordinates all the entertainment from start to finish.
